This is such a big problem. Unfortunately, it isn't anything new. We need to start loving one another instead of all this negative hating.

Check out The Peace Learning Center at peacelearningcenter.org. It's an Indianapolis based organization that focuses on violence prevention through education.
Nationalsave.org listed by Jassy, is a good one. Another one I found on-line was:

With respect to violence per se-I have to admit that reading "The Meaning of Matthew" by Judy Shepard was absolutely heart-wrenching! So I would suggest The Matthew Shepard Foundation -http://www.matthewshepard.org/site/PageServer as a means to encourage the cultivating of TOLERANCE and ACCEPTANCE for all our fellow man-teen-agers and beyond!
Sorry, one more thing...there is also the International Network On School Bullying and Violence... but I'm not sure of any that would lean more towards charities/foundations.
The link just posted is for the youth and it is more of an organization rather than a foundation. However, I suggest it as a means for anyone who is a student and would like to take action. I don't believe we have it here in Vancouver but I could be wrong. Vancouver itself is dealing with gang violence more than anything else right now. It's heart breaking to hear stories like this; particularly when the victim is an innocent bystander/helper. My friend's girlfriend was killed outside of a club (different situation I know) for trying to break up a fight and was shot and killed. Regardless of the setting, hearing of un-needed violence and the consequences of it, is always a hard thing to read about. My thoughts go out to that family.
