La construcción del Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Alto Maipo de AES GENER pone en riesgo el abastecimiento de agua potable de toda la Región Metropolitana de Chile . Siete millones de ciudadanos podemos ver gravemente afectada nuestra cotidianeidad, al faltar uno de los elementos más preciados para la sobrevivencia humana: el agua.

Este proyecto se aprobó en un proceso que contó con irregularidades y dejó múltiples interrogantes. Los ciudadanos de Santiago no fueron informados del impacto que puede tener una intervención en las cuencas que alimentan un río estratégico para el abastecimiento de agua de la ciudad de Santiago.

La empresa AES GENER planea desviar tres ríos a través de 70 kilómetros de túneles, afectando la subsistencia de los cursos fluviales que determinan el 75% del agua potable de Santiago.

Por las razones antes expuestas, es necesaria la suspensión inmediata de las obras vinculadas al Proyecto Hidroeléctrico Alto Maipo, hasta que un debate técnico y ciudadano pueda decidir la pertinencia de realizar un proyecto que modificará irreversiblemente la vida cotidiana de siete millones de personas.



The construction of the Hydroelectric Project High Maipo of AES GENER puts in risk the provision of drinking water of all the Metropolitan Region of Chile. Seven million citizens we can see seriously affected our routine nature, upon lacking one of the most prized elements for the human survival: the water.

This project was approved in a process that included irregularities and left multiple questioning. The citizens of Santiago were not reported of the impact that can have an intervention in the basins that feed a strategic river for the water supply of the city of Santiago.

The business AES GENER plans to deviate three rivers through 70 kilometers of tunnels, affecting the subsistence of the river courses that determine the 75% of the drinking water of Santiago.

By the reasons before exposed, is necessary the immediate suspension of the works linked to the High Hydroelectric Project Maipo, until a technical debate and citizen can decide the relevance to carry out a project that will modify irreversibly the everyday life of seven million people.
