Humanity . . .the intrinsic sense of good that resides in me is well pleased whenever I see the effort of humans to raise cultural awareness about issues that affect us all . . . Even collectively, despite all our individual experiences, we humans tend to be a blithering bunch of neanderthals. We can all use a little humility and we would all be so fortunate to expand our knowledge base and educate ourselves about the needs of our fellow bretheren. Though by typical standards I'm green by age, I am ripe by heart and mind . . .as creative, and well-read, and self-assured as I had always considered myself to be (we all tend to overrate ourselves, don't we?) - I was introduced to a cultural underworld I would have never known otherwise when my daughter was diagnosed with a brain injury as a result of her premature birth in 2003. My daughter is an effervescently bright, atmospherically hypersensitive, highly emotive, empathetic, unabashedly humorous human being - she has been an indescribable blessing - she is 'atypical' in every sense, and I mean that with boastful regard . . .yes, she is non-ambulatory - she utilizes a wheelchair and various other large, cumbersome pieces of equipment . . .things that many people aren't well-acquainted with, that seem to drum up fear and curiousity; yes, she has difficulty grading and coordinating gross and fine motor movements and needs assistance to complete activities that we so easily take for granted . . .and yet, if you saw her you wouldn't even know that there was necessarily anything different about her than any other 5 year old . . . her physical beauty is distracting and her aura is blinding . . .she is a creature of great internal depth, and I have been so greatly rewarded by her existence - I think we tend to forget the true value of individuals in general, especially as the differences perceived between us grow, and our own personal circumstances draw us away from eachother. . .it's kind of inevitable - but, I truly appreciate the effort of those who strive to bring some sense of continuity to Us . . .what a ode to the growth we've all made! All the way from the backyard concerts in Calabasas!

El preocuparse por otros y por nuestro planeta es una cualidad realmente admirable, que demas esta decir no todos poseen, y en el caso de MYS foundation el hecho no es solo preocuparse sino tambien ocuparse activamente de algunos de los problemas que actualmente atacan el mundo en que vivimos.
En ocasiones surge en mi mente la pregunta....quien o quienes deberian actuar y hacer algo al respecto?? la respuesta es sencilla....todos nosotros, el problema es dejar de solamente saberlo y decirlo, porque sabemos que de esta manera no se resolveran cosas como el calentamiento global, la hambruna y enfermedades en africa, el sub desarrollo de latinoamerica, la guerra en irak, entre muchos otros....el dia que dejemos de hablar y actuemos ese dia sera diferente, no podemos sentarnos y esperar que el mundo cambie, o que los gobiernos lo cambien, si queremos ver el mundo cambiar debemos empezar por nosotros mismos, cosas pequeñas como aprender a reciclar o el solo hecho de donar alimentos, dinero o ropa para paises y personas en desgracia es un pequeño gran paso. Es por esta razon que admiro ENORMEMENTE a Incubus mas alla de la banda, porque han demostrado, con hechos, que son seres humanos excepcionales esta fundacion y los logros de la misma lo demuestra. Es tiempo de que cada uno de nosotros sin importar raza, credo, edad o condicion social tome la iniciativa de hacer algo para ayudar a despertar el amor que hay dentro de cada ser humano, ver mas alla de nuestras narices, dejar a un lado el egoismo y dejar de decir o pensar que no nos compete el hambre en Africa o la violencia de las que algunos somos victimas, es problema de todos, nos guste o no vivimos en el mismo planeta por ello compartimos la responsabilidad de hacer algo para mejorarlo en todo el amplio sentido de la palabra. Hay infinidad de cosas por hacer y muy pocas personas haciendo... No pretendo que vean esto como un sermon moralista, es solo una preocupacion, el mundo nos esta dando advertencias o que acaso creen que el calentamiento global es una broma o solo una noticia solo los idiotas serian capaces de pensar de esta forma. Estoy buscando la manera de no solo apoyar moralmente a MYS foundation. Sigan adelante demostrandonos a todos que si se puede ayudar y que el hacerlo da resultado....
