Hi fello Incu-freaks!! So, I just wanted to make a group to share info about the Sea Shephers, the most amazing conservation groups I have seen. Forget those pansys over in PETA, these guys actually go out there and DO SOMETHING!!!

Hey thanks for taking a look at my group.

I don't consider myself a hippy or a tree-hugger. I don't recycle and I'm not convinced about this whole "global warming carbon footprint" dealy, but I do know right from wrong. And the atrocities that have been happening in the southern ocean over the years are WRONG! If you have seen the show Whale Wars, you know what I am talking about.

I don't have a job right now and can't donate, but maybe by doing this, it will be brought to the attention of someone who can. Be it a fan that has a little to spare in these very rough times, or the band itself.

Sea Shepherd has gone on to end the careers of 9 illegal whaling vessels, saving thousands of whales. These campaigns and other Sea Shepherd efforts have kept the issue of whaling in the international spotlight for the past thirty years, and will be going after the Japanese fleet for the 6th year when they set sail on Dec. 7, 2009.

Why is in not illegal? Well, technically it is, but the people who wrote the whaling ban into law left a loop hole. The law allows for a certin number of whales to be killed for "scientific research." Yeah.. rriiiiiiigght...... Starting in December, the Japanese whaling fleet will be targeting 935 piked (Minke) whales and another 50 fin whales, and has threatened to add humpbacks to their quota as well. Killing ONE whale is too many, and brutally murdering over 1,000 is putting tremendous stress on an already dwindling population. And not to mention, its just wrong!!

Last year proved to be extremely difficult, I watched in horror as the Japanese whalers actually slaughtered several of these incredible creatures in front of the Sea Shepherds. Up until then, they had not witnessed a whale being murdered. The Japanese have certainly raised the stakes. And the Sea Shepherds are very ready to fight back this year.

The eco-bio-deisel-boat-thingamajig Earthrace will be joining the campaign this year!! What does that mean? Well, the vessel has been outfitted with a Kevlar coating so the plan is to position the Earthrace in front of the whalers harpoons! Pure genius! And the guys that are going to do that must have brass-Kevlar covered balls! haha! This is going to be an amazing year and from the looks of it, they will succeed in driving down the profits of the Japanese whalers once again, and I pray to God that this will be the year to break them.

Thank you again for stopping by and please, SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!

Links to all the sites will be posted in our forum.

New Report Offers Little Hope for International Climate Agreement

It's the big pink elephant in the room that few others wish to acknowledge, but a central theme in a new report by former climate negotiator Nigel Purvis: An international climate change treaty isn't likely to be signed anytime soon. Purvis served as president Clinton's chief UN climate negotiator, and in his report released today Purvis says that the United States and Europe should "accept reality" and take immediate practical steps to deal with global warming.

EPA defends plan to regulate Greenhouse gas emissions

The Environmental Protection Agency chief fought back on Monday against Senate attempts to challenge the agency's authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions, saying delaying action would be bad for the economy. President Barack Obama has long said the EPA would take steps to regulate greenhouse gases if Congress failed to pass climate legislation. The bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate amid opposition from fossil fuel-rich states.
