Incubus Charity Night
Hi everyone!
As you all know, Incubus is a band that continues to give back. This sparks an idea in me to get involved in any way I can. I thought of making a fund raising night to help a charity in MYF. The idea is to have a huge gathering in my own city of Jakarta, Indonesia, where Incubus fans (that lives here and nearby) can meet, hang out, eat food, have drinks, play games and hear local bands play Incubus songs. The money collected in that night will be donated to MYF.
I'm writing in this discussion board because I've never done a fund raising night before. I thought of sharing in the hopes that all of you wonderful fans of Incubus can shade bright ideas on my little plan. Do any of you have ever done fund raising? What do I need to do to get sponsors? How do I make sure people will actually donate money? When is the perfect timing to do this?

Too bad I'm in Cali : ( Well I've never done fundraising before but I'm sure all you'd need to do for some sponsers is go to your local radio station or cabel company and ask for thier help!! And to get people to donate...you can have everything like food drinks and games all be paid in ticket form and people have to buy the tickets for a certain price and all the proceeds from that donate : )) I hope my ideas help you...let me know how it goes : )

thanks for the suggestions! :) i like the ticket idea and will definitely apply that for sure. i'm currently trying to get in touch with local radio stations. another way that i have come up to raise money is to make and sell Incunesia (Incubus Indonesia) t-shirts. i do hope people will like and buy these t-shirts cause the money will go to MYF. here are the mock ups:

i would love to sell these t-shirts to you guys. we'll see about that :)
we've modified it thanks to the tools section in this site and the final design is this one.

hey i think what ur doing is great! i wish i could be there too. well i hope sooner i can go to INCUNESIA events. maybe in the future. i love the name too. ill think of sumthing for Philippines too. i wish i have other die hard incubus fans here so we could do the same thing your doing...fundraising for MYF! i just want to wish you good luck! :)
p.s i also saw ur tattoo, i envy it. :))

you know what? one of the reasons why i'm doing this is because i was also inspired by the Incubus Street Team Philippines. there are die hard Incubus fans in your country that helped sparked this idea. what i'm trying to do is take to the next level to inspire others as well. you should check out and join the Philippines team so you can do Incu-wonders too. this is their myspace page link: http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&.... i wish you good luck as well! :)

I'm from montana so i wont be able to attend haha, but i was hoping i could at least make some contribution so i would love to purchase a shirt if at all possible, dont be afraid to mark up haha, its for a good cause. as for the actual sponosorships dont forget to hit up record stores!
