Make Yourself Foundation (Incubus)

Ok, when I hear or read something fantastic I just gotta share it.
Stuff that makes you laugh or think or just something beautiful or crazy.
Please do share :)

I have one I read today by Henry Miller in his book Tropic of Cancer:

She rises up out of a sea of faces and embraces me, embraces me passionately-a thousand eyes, noses, fingers, legs, bottles, windows, purses, saucers all glaring at us and we in each other's arms oblivious. I sit down beside her and she talks-a flood of talk. Wild consumptive notes of hysteria, perversion, leprosy. I hear not a word because she is beautiful and I love her and now I am happy and willing to die.

Thanks for the Quote Alexia,
Tropic of Cancer - One of the most erotic pieces of modern literature!!

I have something, by the late great writer and Stand Up Comedian, Bill Hicks.
But first, i have to go find it.......

Niiice :D
That would be an interesting thing to do, have some Shrooms and write stuff down....would be good for a laugh once straight again hahaha

I read this bit today which I liked, the end had me laughing :)
This is his friend Van Norden talking about @rgasm:
For one second like I obliterate myself. There is not even one me then....there is nothing....not even the c*nt. It's like receiving communion. Honest, I mean that. For a few seconds afterward I have a fine spiritual glow....and maybe it would continue that way indefinitely-how can you tell?-if it weren't for the fact that there's a woman beside you and then the douche bag and the water running....all those little details that make you desperately self-conscious, desperately lonely. And for that one moment of freedom you have to listen to all that love crap....it drives me nuts sometimes....I want to kick them out immediately.....I do now and then. But that doesn't keep them away. They like it, in fact. The less you notice them the more they chase after you. There's something perverse about women....they're all masochists at heart.

I like the lyrics to the song Crystal Ship by The Doors, especially the start:

Before you slip into unconsciousness
Id like to have another kiss
Another flashing chance at bliss
Another kiss, another kiss
So, I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but the short story from which this quote is from is so vividly veracious, I had to share.

"They feel anger, outrage, impotence, despite all the
explanations. They would like to do something for the child. But there is nothing they
can do. If the child were brought up into the sunlight out of that vile place, if it were
cleaned and fed and comforted, that would be a good thing indeed; but if it were done,
in that day and hour all the prosperity and beauty and delight of Omelas would wither
and be destroyed. Those are the terms. To exchange all the goodness and grace of
every life in Omelas for that single, small improvement: to throw away the happiness of
thousands for the chance of the happiness of one: that would be to let guilt within the
walls indeed."

To get the full effect, you really need to read the full version by Ursula Le Guin, called 'The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas.'

I like that :)
Might have to add that book to my list...
Thanks for sharing!
Hahaha it's sacrilegious to clean up Miller isn't it! I have no problem with it, the C word offends many though so I thought I was play nice :)

I like the Shakespeare quote :), BB King one is funny lol

Just found this one from Anais Nin who was actually Henry Miller's lover at one point:

Music melts all the separate parts of our bodies together.

I like this one too...
Aldous Huxley
After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
Those are nice :) Love inspires a myriad of things....

I have been reading more Henry, am on Tropic of Capricorn now!

: I was walking around in a stone forest the center of which was chaos; sometimes in the dead center, in the very heart of chaos, I danced or drank myself silly, or I made love, or I befriended someone, or I planned a new life, but it was all chaos, all stone and all hopeless and bewildering. Until the time when I would encounter a force strong enough to whirl me out of this mad stone forest no life would be possible for me nor could one page be written which would have meaning.

:D
